 President Reflection February 22nd As I was reflecting on far our club has come in the last 12 months after going through the Covid nightmares of 2020, I was thinking of the many changes our club has successfully undergone, some through choice and others forced on us. Probably the most important is the new meeting place after our ”homeless state” for part of 2020, which was forced on us by things out of our control – St Francis management! And of course change, large and small, is not liked by many yet it is so important for any group be it a business, a club, an organisation, etc. So I believe our members have accepted the changes that have been necessary for our club to move into the future as a relevant, committed and vibrant part of Rotary worldwide. It will enable us to benefit from our new members skills and expertise, spread the responsibilities of decision making from a few, and develop new projects and priorities in the years ahead. As our founder Paul Harris said, “It is well that there is nothing in Rotary so sacred that it cannot be set aside in favor of things better.” So I am confident we can keep on building the future of our club. |
