Drag Queen Bingo a big hit
More than 180 locals were entertained by performers 'Fifi' and 'Layla' as they sang popular songs and counted out Bingo numbers like no one else. Their risque performance had those attending in stitches. And possibly missing a few bingo numbers through laughter too.  More than 50 excellent raffle prizes were  on offer and the South Adelaide Football Club opened the bar for us. Thank you to their staff for serving and cleaning up after the event.
This successful event helps local students attend 'One and All' sail training  events,
Rotary Youth  Leadership events and the
National Youth Science Forum.
Aldinga Air Show volunteering
Free lunch [thanks Aldinga Lions] and a chance to watch all types of aircraft go through their paces, this was an opportunity not to miss.
Club members volunteered for all types of duties to help air show organisers present this popular event. for some exciting videos

Raising funds to End Polio in tandem
Phil and Joyce Ogden have a passion to see Polio wiped from the earth.
They are riding their tandem cycle from Adelaide to Sydney and stopped in Morphett Vale to visit our club and tell their story.
From the Rotary Club of South Launceston, Phil and Joyce have undertaken these journeys before with the Nullarbor their biggest challenge so far.

Delivering a message to all Rotarians, the couple said, "We feel that the enormous effort which has gone into turning the tide of the disease will be lost if pressure, and fund raising, is not maintained until the final handful of cases is consigned to history.

"If we take our collective eyes off the ball, the disease will re-establish. So, we are still committed to making our personal donations every year but felt we might harness another of our passions, cycling, to push things along - once again with the assistance of Rotary."

The cost of a single cup of coffee from each Rotarian will make a difference.
'Hit Polio for six'
HWCC makes a difference
Hackham West Community Centre is making a difference to their local community and beyond.
Recent statistics have shown that people travel from as far away as Modbury to access their services.
Our club members support HWCC from their community garden, food donations, backpacks for children starting school, seasonal bbqs and odd jobs.
Naomi, the Centre's director, spoke enthusiastically about the centre and the difference it makes to the lives of everyone accessing their services.
The Centre is an inclusive community centre offering a diverse range of programs and services which provide opportunities for the local community to be empowered through personal growth, learning, and connections. HWCC aims to offer consistent programs and activities for the community but also new and exciting activities per term.
The Centre also has a large variety of volunteer options and boasts a fantastic welcoming culture for anyone interested in volunteering.
Members are asked to bring cans of soup to their May meeting for donation to the Centre's Pantry.
Baby trees go back to TFL
Club members have been growing trees for the 'Trees for Life' program and the latest batch have been returned to TFL to grow on before being donated to farmers in Kangaroo Island.
Our Grey Box eucalyptus trees did the best with the Wattle and Melaleuca sparse but healthy.
The cool, wet weather conditions in December affected growing conditions for all growers in Adelaide.
